PathSweeper Enterprise: Vehicle Studio, your own fleet, data sovereignty

A site plan is rarely just a site plan. Whoever knows a company's works site, hall layouts and manoeuvring areas knows part of how that company operates. That is why IT departments, procurement and works councils ask the same questions before any cloud tool is introduced: Where does the data live? Who can access it? What does the data processing agreement say? And what happens when the contract ends?

The answer to all of those questions is data sovereignty: your company decides where its data lives, who can access it, under which contract it is processed and what happens to it when the contract ends.

PathSweeper Enterprise is the swept-path software built to deliver exactly that, for companies where a standard cloud offering cannot answer those questions: your own PathSweeper instance, operated exclusively for your company, hosted in Germany. PathSweeper provides and operates the server, but the data on it belongs to you.

Three reasons for PathSweeper Enterprise

Enterprise is not a bigger bundle of the same software. It is three concrete commitments:

1. Vehicle Studio for complex vehicle combinations. A full-page vehicle builder for the configurations that go beyond the standard vehicle creator: non-standard combinations and loads carried on the vehicle, built individually rather than picked from a template.
2. Your own vehicle fleet in the vehicle selector. Your vehicles are modelled from your manufacturer data sheets, checked, and placed in your library. From then on your own semi-trailer sits in the same selector as an official design vehicle, for every planner in your organisation.
3. Data sovereignty. A dedicated instance with its own database in Germany, all subprocessors within the EEA, a negotiable DPA, and a full data handover in open formats when the contract ends.

The first two decide how accurate your evidence drawings are. The third decides whether your IT department signs them off at all.

Who Enterprise is for

For a single planner's quick swept path check, the regular PathSweeper cloud is entirely sufficient. Enterprise is aimed at companies where more comes together:

• Works-site plans, hall layouts and vehicle data are confidential and must not leave a defined environment.
• IT or procurement require an auditable, negotiable data processing agreement instead of take-it-or-leave-it standard clauses.
• The fleet differs from the design vehicles: non-standard combinations, loads carried on the vehicle, or vehicles with no suitable standard equivalent.
• The works council asks what usage data is collected about employees.
• Several planners work on the same sites and need shared projects and a shared vehicle library.

Data sovereignty: what "own instance" means technically

Data sovereignty is not a label, it is a list of verifiable commitments. An Enterprise instance is not a fenced-off corner of a shared cloud. It is a dedicated server with its own database at Hetzner in Germany, in ISO/IEC 27001 certified data centres. Concretely:

• No third-country transfers. All subprocessors are in the EEA. US cloud providers are deliberately not used.
• European DNS and CDN. DNS and delivery run through Bunny (bunny.net), a European DNS and CDN provider based in the EU, restricted to European locations. TLS terminates on the German server; no US provider sits between your planners and the instance.
• No usage analytics. The instance collects and forwards no usage events. Only security and error logs are kept. That is also the short answer to the works council's question.
• Access on your terms. No guest access, no public marketing or commerce pages. Access can be restricted to your corporate network; SSO on request.
• Named seat licences. An admin panel manages seats, employees can request access, and colleagues on your email domain can join automatically. The licence is signed and verifiable offline: the instance does not need to phone home for licence checks.

The calculation itself runs where it always runs in PathSweeper: as WebAssembly, directly in the planner's browser. That is data sovereignty in daily use: your site plans stay on your instance in Germany, and the swept path is computed on your planner's own machine.

The DPA, in plain language

A DPA (data processing agreement, in Germany the AVV) is the contract required by Art. 28 GDPR that your company, as the controller, concludes with PathSweeper, as the processor, before any personal data is processed. It is not a formality: it makes the provider's duties binding, including processing only on documented instructions, confidentiality, control over subprocessors, audit rights, and deletion or return of data at contract end.

The PathSweeper Enterprise DPA is individually negotiable and is delivered as a PDF plus an editable DOCX so your legal team can redline the document directly. It concretely commits to:

• Subprocessors: 30 days advance notice of changes, with a right to object.
• Security incidents: notification within 48 hours.
• Audit right: an annual audit right for your company.
• Contract end: return of the full data set in usable form, followed by deletion within 30 days with confirmation in text form.
• Survival: confidentiality and deletion duties survive termination.

For comparison: the Team tier includes a standard Art. 28 GDPR DPA, as most cloud services offer. A negotiable DPA is Enterprise only.

Organisation, roles and company drive

On the instance, your company works as an organisation with roles and seat management. Three things are deliberately built so knowledge stays with the company rather than in personal accounts:

• Shared projects: site plans and analyses are visible to the organisation, not just to the person who created them.
• Company drive: works-site CAD lives in a shared drive. When an employee leaves the company, the plans do not leave with them. Deleted items sit in a 30-day trash.
• Shared vehicle library: custom vehicles are available to the whole organisation read-only; edit rights stay with the author.

Setup: verified vehicles, calibrated plans

Enterprise is not handed over as an empty instance. Setup includes:

• Provisioning the instance at its own address, optionally on your own subdomain.
• Building a verified vehicle library from your real manufacturer data sheets. Every vehicle is built from documented dimensions; nothing is estimated.
• Setting up the organisation with a first admin and enabling your email domain.
• An onboarding session in which your site plans are imported and calibrated, so the team works on its own sites from day one.

The library does not freeze after setup. Alongside the standard vehicle creator, which every tier includes, the instance comes with the Vehicle Studio: a full-page builder for the complex vehicle combinations that go beyond it, such as non-standard combinations and loads carried on vehicles. Your team extends the library itself, and every addition goes into the shared library of the whole organisation. The Vehicle Studio is an Enterprise feature; it is not included in Team or the standard cloud tiers.

Ongoing operation

Operating the instance is part of the offer: daily backups, product updates, priority support, maintenance windows outside working hours, and security patches applied without delay.

Pricing

PathSweeper Enterprise costs 1,299 € per user and year, plus one-time setup and ongoing instance operation, quoted individually. Volume pricing is available from 10 users on request. There is no seat minimum: Enterprise starts where the requirements demand it, not at an arbitrary user count.

For teams that need shared projects and a shared vehicle library but no dedicated instance, the Team tier is the middle option: 699 € per user and year, from 2 users, in the shared PathSweeper cloud, with a standard Art. 28 GDPR DPA. The full overview is on the pricing page.
