Software Developer (m/f/d)

Employment: Minijob or working studentLocation: Remote

Build the swept path analysis tool planners use around the world: a Next.js web app with a Rust/WebAssembly geometry engine, a Konva canvas editor and CAD import and export. Remote, with flexible hours.

What you will do

  • Build new features in the web app (React 19, TypeScript, Next.js): canvas editor, vehicle library, export and project management
  • Extend the vehicle kinematics engine in Rust (compiled to WebAssembly) and its geometry test suite
  • Improve CAD import and export: DXF/DWG/PDF parsing in the Python converter service and further development of the DXF writer
  • Build interfaces to external engineering software and contribute to the internal tooling we run with AI agents
  • Break ideas down into concrete tasks together with the founder, build them and get them in front of users, ideally in the same week

What we are looking for

  • A technical bachelor, e.g. computer science, mechanical engineering or physics (towards the end of your studies is fine)
  • Coding experience and confident use of coding agents like Claude Code or Codex
  • Ideally experience with React/TypeScript, Rust or PostgreSQL
  • The ability to break complex problems down into manageable tasks
  • Motivated and curious about engineering and CAD

You do not need to know all of these technologies already. Depending on your strengths and interests you will work on different parts of the software.

About PathSweeper

PathSweeper is math-heavy engineering software used by planners and engineers around the world. We are a young, small team in Munich that ships every week. We are looking for motivated people who think in structures and like to own a problem from idea to result.

  • Small team, real ownership

No layers of management. What you build or close reaches real customers, often in the same week.

  • Our own tools

No Trello, no Teams. We run our own in-house tooling with AI and MCP integrations, and you will help shape it.

  • Structured thinking over titles

We care whether you can take a fuzzy idea, break it into tasks and see it through, whether it is a feature, a sales process or an internal workflow.

  • Flexible

Part-time hours that fit around your studies or other work. Based in Munich, remote possible.
