Garbage Truck Dimensions: Turning Radius & Sources
Garbage truck dimensions explained: typical 2- and 3-axle measurements, turning radius, German RBSV 2020 standards, and which values you may legally use for free.
The smart, free alternative to AutoTURN and Autodesk Vehicle Tracking. Simulate vehicle maneuvers, check truck turning radii, and export CAD-ready drawings directly in your browser.

Try the DemoComing: Articulated vehicles & realistic kinematics
From first swept path to final proof — here's our roadmap.
All standard vehicle classes — from cars to articulated buses. Currently based on StVZO statutory maxima and publicly available manufacturer data sheets, with licensed standard vehicles planned for the full release.
Standard design vehicles based on § 32 / § 32d StVZO and public manufacturer data sheets.
Market values from typical Magirus / Rosenbauer / Mercedes Econic models for pre-design and verification.
Multi-part vehicles with realistic articulation behavior.
Official values from the FGSV Verlag and DIN Media GmbH – part of the full release after licensing.
Physically accurate swept paths in real time — no approximations. Benefit from our precision calculation engine.
Realistic wheel angle calculation for precise turning circles.
Instant visualization of the total space requirement.
Correct swept paths for vehicles with multiple axles.
Simulate reversing maneuvers with realistic steering behavior.
Seamless integration into existing planning workflows — no media breaks. Compatible with your favorite CAD tools.
Load site plans and floor plans as background images.
Use aerial imagery directly as a scaled planning base.
Edit swept paths directly in CAD software.
Standards-compliant documentation with dimensions and legend.

The demo lets you draw paths and compute swept curves directly in your browser with four sample vehicles (passenger car, delivery van, 2-axle truck, bus). You can calibrate scale on a site plan, draw turning paths, and see the swept envelope in real time. CAD upload, DXF export, custom vehicle creation and the full vehicle library require the full version – join the waitlist to get notified at launch.
The demo includes four generic vehicle templates based on the German statutory maxima per § 32 / § 32d StVZO: a standard passenger car, a delivery van, a 2-axle truck, and a standard bus. The full version will add fire apparatus (DLK 23/12), garbage trucks (Mercedes Econic class), semi-trailers, articulated buses and a custom-vehicle editor where you can enter dimensions from your own manufacturer data sheets.
No – the demo ships only with values that are legally free to use. The official RBSV 2020 tables are licensed by the FGSV Verlag (fgsv-verlag.de, around €53) and are copyright-protected; the same applies to the aerial ladder dimensions from DIN EN 14043 / DIN 14502 (DIN Media GmbH). Licensed standard design vehicles are planned for the full release. For private projects, pre-design and feasibility studies, the included StVZO values are usually fully sufficient; for tendered public projects that explicitly reference RBSV you will need the original regulation or a licensed CAD package.
Not in the demo. CAD upload (DWG/DXF/PDF) and DXF export are full-version features – join the waitlist to be notified when they go live. As a separate free tool, you can use our public DWG to DXF converter without an account.
Yes. The demo runs entirely in your browser with no signup required for the basic flow, no cookies (apart from technically required ones from our CDN), and no third-party tracking. We use self-hosted, IP-anonymized analytics only.
No. PathSweeper runs entirely in your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). It is a lightweight alternative to installing heavy CAD plugins or vehicle tracking software.
