InSTRATOAutoTURN OnlineComparisonSoftware

On 1 October 2026 Transoft Solutions launched InSTRATO, a web-based platform for transportation design. AutoTURN Online, the browser version of AutoTURN, now lives inside it as one module, and autoturnonline.com redirects to instrato.com. If you are searching for an InSTRATO alternative, or wondering whether InSTRATO pricing makes sense for your projects, this page compares the platform as a whole with PathSweeper.

A note on fairness first: PathSweeper is our own product. The InSTRATO claims below come from Transoft's public pages, cited in the sources, and there is a whole section on when InSTRATO is the better choice. For a row-by-row comparison of the swept-path module itself (libraries, kinematics, file formats), see PathSweeper vs AutoTURN Online. This page is about the platform around it.

What InSTRATO is

InSTRATO is Transoft's attempt to move more of the design workflow into the browser under one subscription. The swept-path module is AutoTURN Online with, according to Transoft, the same engine and the same library of more than 2,800 standard and manufacturer-based vehicles. It handles forward and reverse manoeuvres, rear-steer and front-and-rear-steer vehicles and clearance envelopes, and shows realistic vehicle models for selected libraries.

Next to it sit three further pieces. Parking Design generates stall layouts with built-in local standards, counts stalls in real time and places accessible stalls. Collaboration lets you take a snapshot, share it by link, collect comments and keep versions; Transoft says it is available to all users with an active subscription for a limited time via the Lab. The Lab itself gives paid subscribers early access to features still in development. On the CAD side, Transoft lists integrations with Autodesk Revit and Vectorworks, and positions the desktop product AutoTURN Pro for more advanced needs.

Where PathSweeper is the better fit

You need a vehicle that is not on the shelf. Transoft states plainly that custom vehicle creation is not currently supported. PathSweeper has a custom vehicle creator in the browser, including articulated combinations: semi-trailers, drawbar trailers and centre-axle trailers. Building and saving them is free; the pass is only needed once you use one in a project.

You want to start without a subscription. PathSweeper's free tier includes the canvas editor, four generic vehicles (templates, not official design vehicles), plan underlay with scale calibration, unlimited basic checks and PNG, JPEG and PDF export. InSTRATO has no free tier.

Your plans arrive as PDFs. PathSweeper imports PDF site plans on the free tier. InSTRATO lists DXF, DWG, JPEG, PNG and Google Maps as import sources.

You work on single projects, not all year. The Project Pass is a one-time payment per project, not per user, and unlocks 107 official design vehicles from 10 national guideline libraries, DWG, DXF and 12d XML upload, DXF and DWG export, satellite imagery and an A3 audit plan sheet. For continuous use the annual plan costs €399 per year.

Your team does not work in English. PathSweeper's interface is translated into 12 languages, from German and French to Japanese, Korean and both Chinese scripts.

Where InSTRATO is the better fit

You design car parks. PathSweeper has no parking layout tool. It can check that a vehicle reaches a stall or a loading bay, reversing included, but it does not lay out stalls or count them. If that is part of your job, InSTRATO covers it in the same subscription.

You need review loops with comments. PathSweeper's Team plan shares projects with viewer and editor roles and read-only links, but it has no comment threads or version history on a shared snapshot.

You work in Revit or Vectorworks every day. PathSweeper's DXF and DWG export can be brought into those tools as a drawing, but there is no direct integration. Our native CAD plugin is still in beta.

You need library breadth. More than 2,800 vehicles is a much larger shelf than ours, and if a client or authority explicitly expects AutoTURN output, InSTRATO delivers exactly that.

Pricing for new customers

InSTRATO is sold as a yearly or monthly subscription per user, through separate storefronts for the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. Transoft notes that monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. PathSweeper has three ways in: the free tier, the €39 one-time pass per project, and the annual plan at €399 per year.

The table below shows AutoTURN Online list prices by region from our last snapshot of Transoft's store. The snapshot date is stated in the table. On 9 October 2026, after the launch, the InSTRATO pricing page still showed 630 euros per year or 90 euros per month for EU visitors, excluding taxes, the same figures as in the snapshot; the prices shown are region-dependent, so confirm the figure at your location before deciding. Against that snapshot, PathSweeper's annual plan came in below the AutoTURN Online yearly list price for a new customer in every market listed. Background on the earlier price history is in our AutoTURN Online pricing post.

Switching from InSTRATO

If you subscribe to AutoTURN Online through InSTRATO and your renewal is coming up, upload your AutoTURN Online invoice below. You get a one-time code for 50% off your first year of the PathSweeper Annual Pass, applied in your local currency. The code stays valid for 12 months after it is issued, so you can claim it now and use it when your current term ends. After the first year the pass renews at the regular list price and can be cancelled yearly. Uploads are accepted until 31 December 2026. If the automatic check cannot read your invoice, the upload box offers a personal check instead.

For the practical steps (site-plan import, choosing or building the design vehicle, what does not carry over), see the guide Switching from AutoTURN Online to PathSweeper.

InSTRATO is the broader platform: swept paths, parking design, collaboration and CAD integrations under one per-user subscription. PathSweeper does one of those jobs, swept path analysis, and does it with a custom vehicle creator, a free tier, PDF import, 12 interface languages and pricing that starts at zero. If swept paths are what you actually need, the free tier is the quickest way to try PathSweeper on your own plan. For the wider market, including desktop tools, see our swept path analysis software roundup.

Frequently Asked Questions

InSTRATO is a web-based platform for transportation design that Transoft Solutions launched on 1 October 2026. It groups several modules under one login: AutoTURN Online for vehicle swept paths, Parking Design for automatic stall layouts, Collaboration for sharing snapshots with comments and version control, and the Lab with early access to features in development. Transoft also lists integrations with Autodesk Revit and Vectorworks.

Not quite. AutoTURN Online still exists, but it is now one module inside InSTRATO, and autoturnonline.com redirects to instrato.com. According to Transoft the swept-path module keeps the same engine and the same library of more than 2,800 standard and manufacturer-based vehicles. InSTRATO is the wider platform around it. For a module-level comparison of swept-path features, see our PathSweeper vs AutoTURN Online page.

InSTRATO's pricing page offers a yearly and a monthly subscription per user, sold through region-specific storefronts for the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific, so the price you see depends on where you buy. Transoft states that monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. As of 9 October 2026 the pricing page shows 630 euros per year or 90 euros per month for EU visitors, excluding taxes, unchanged from before the launch. The pricing section on this page shows the list prices by region from our last store snapshot, with its date; confirm the current figure on Transoft's storefront for your region before buying.

Not at the moment. Transoft's AutoTURN Online page on instrato.com states that custom vehicle creation is not currently supported. PathSweeper includes a custom vehicle creator in the browser, including articulated combinations such as semi-trailers, drawbar trailers and centre-axle trailers. Building and saving custom vehicles is free; using one in a project requires the pass.

For swept-path work, PathSweeper. Its annual plan lists at €399 per year, and for a new customer it came in below the AutoTURN Online yearly list price in every market of our regional snapshot. PathSweeper also has a free tier and a one-time Project Pass at €39 per project, neither of which has an InSTRATO equivalent. If you also need parking layouts or Revit and Vectorworks integration, the comparison is no longer like for like, because PathSweeper does not offer those.

Yes. Upload the invoice for your AutoTURN Online subscription on this page and you get a one-time code for 50% off your first year of the PathSweeper Annual Pass. The code stays valid for 12 months after it is issued, so you can use it when your current term runs out; from the second year the pass renews at the regular list price. Uploads are accepted until 31 December 2026.

No. PathSweeper is a swept path analysis tool. You can check whether a design vehicle can reach a stall, a loading bay or a ramp, including reversing manoeuvres, but PathSweeper does not generate stall layouts or count stalls. If automatic parking layouts are a core part of your work, InSTRATO's Parking Design module covers something PathSweeper does not.
